I got a 55w HID kit and I have no issues, lights look good, very bright I use 8k bulbs I have 6k bulbs as well but I prefer the 8k look. I haven't used my brights once since I installed the HID kit even during the rain at night. I'm very pleased. I've never used LED lights so I don't have a good opinion on them, i've just always used HID's plus the HID's were simple to install no taking apart anything pretty much plug and play.

I agree, just stick with a good HID kit. Easy plug n play, cheap and they put out nice amount of light.
But if you have to have LED's, I'd go with the OEM LED headlights. Not cheap, but they look great. (y)

The fog lights good. But the LED headlight one sucks. I just removed it. The light distance wasn't that far

How do you like it? I had that too, but took it off after 1 week and replaced with HID.

I removed it. The projector to the head light isn't that far. I just talked to one of my friend and he stated the common ticket that police officer give during an accident is headlight. The reason is that HID is illegal even if that accident isn't your fault. It could come back and hurt you. They can state that it was too bright, unsafe, etc. I went back to my Phillips bulbs.

Installed a Wheelskin EuroPerf sand/black steering wheel cover.

Caught my mistake after a few loops...

    ProTip:
Snug the previous loop just before snugging the current loop to lock it into position.

H.I.D. is only illegal if it is not in a proper projector that was built to house a H.I.D. bulb. Also, using a color temp that doesn't appear white on white surface, i.e. anything above 6k. But the standard Prius halogen projector does a very very good job of evenly projecting H.I.D. lighting with minimum glare. They are almost identical to the rx330 H.I.D. projector.

Except the Prius projector has the squirrel finder cutouts that do allow glare above the cutoffs. That's why there are the rectangles of light above the cutoffs when projected against a near wall.

Proper HID projectors don't have them.

You're right, it's been over a year since I retrofitted mine and I forgot about those annoying squirrel finders.
