I have a 2011 gen 3 HB Prius with about 81k mostly hwy miles. It has a clicking sound coming from the left side front at slow speeds. It doesn't do it all the time but its there. Before I take it in what do you guys think it is?

EightiesDude – These possibilities come to mind.
    • Check in the left front wheel well for a playing card held in place with a clothespin. ;)
    • Check the tread surface of your left front tire for the possibility of there being a pebble wedged in a tread groove.
    • Left front CV/Hub bearing failing, brake assembly part “Click-Clicking,” or other rotation-related element in the left-front causing the noise.

Checked for pebbles on tire nothing. Looked at u joint boot and other things underneath and it looks really new for 81k miles.

I have the same issue, can't figure out as we'll let me know if you get it resolved first.

How many miles are on yours unreal?

I don't know what it is yet but I got a feeling this is some sort of defect whatever it is. I know things wear out but whatever it is seems premature especially on a car like this that is not driven hard because its a hybrid.

Clicking noise at low speed when turning hard &/or braking points to defective CV joint. Look for traces of grease/oil staining on a CV joint cover. These _can_ point to a hole/puncture/tear which allows grease to seep out (& dirt to get in causing wear). But the CV joint can fail without a leak.
Typically a CV joint can make its clicking noise for many (many) miles without failure. Its when taking very sharp corners that its stress is at max.

I can hear the same noise you described when I'm driving slowly in my parking ramp. It sounds like the playing card in the spokes!

Noticed the clicking goes away pretty much after laying off the brakes for a few seconds at slow speeds making that turn.

Mines at 60k but I checked for any leakage but couldn't find any, this clicking noise only happens when im slowing down. I'm getting an alignment done today see if they find something.
