has anyone tried navdvdmaps to purchase map updates? it has new 14.1 version map dvd on sale for 50+8$(Shipping). Not sure if the site is fake or real. and dvds sold is oem.
I too would be interested in this. I have an '08 with the original DVD. I just have resorted to using my phone, but would like to use the nav system.
I bought the Lexus DVD for $99.00 at the local Lexus dealer and installed it in my 2008 and it worked like a charm. The parts guy was sure that it would not work and told me several times that there were no returns - but it loaded right in with no hitches.
I am based in the the UK. Previously I have ordered the DVDs from Toyota at a cost of about £140. There are several DVD's eg UK, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Scandinavia that come in the pack so I keep the UK disk and put the others on Ebay. I got about £35 each for the 3 spare disks so not a bad way of keep the cost down to a more reasonable level. I am using the car sat nav much less since discovering the Waze app which allows you to tell other drivers when you hit a jam. It has given me some great re-routings through back streets and works in conjunction with Google search so that you can search more individual restaurants by name and general location. My ideal resolution for the car satnav would be for it to just display the screen from my phone. Has anyone managed to do this?
Since my Prius Nav is poor compared to my Garmin Nav, and my Garmin Nav is poor compared to Google Nav on my smartphone, I wouldn't spend any money or time upgrading my Prius Nav.
