What's a proper switch? I can't find the article? Whats wrong with the switch that comes with the Yaris kit?

Essentially, there are two switches that can come with the kits. You want to avoid the one where it appears that the button is inset with a bezel around it. You are looking for the one where the whole face of the switch is the button. Here is a link to his blog post about the switches: 2006-2011 Toyota Yaris fog light switch (Prius-compatible design vs. Prius-incompatible design)

Once again I haven't tried this in the c. His article is based on the 3rd Gen Prius but says the swap is the same, with the exception of the light housings.

Thanks, thinking I may go for it as well, I see there are kits with the yellow lens :)

I have been hoping that someone would come out with a cheap aftermarket kit like the one for the Yaris, but no such luck. So this is the next cheapest option that I have seen. Hope it goes well. Let us know if it all works. As I said, I plan to get to it, but I want to put in HIDs first.

Can I just buy the switch and how?

Why buy the switch when they come with the wire harness and relay as a set?

I just want the switch to do something else, no need for more fog lights because they came with my C4.

Try the dealer, or search salvage yards, more and more used parts are showing up for the C.

I have a couple of questions and suggestions:

    Look at E-bay items:
    181518988522
    or
    361088026789

Either one should end up around $85 with shipping, and should be able to be wired up the same way as the Toyota of McDonough kits.

    Questions:
Could someone who is familiar with the Toyota Bezels look at these and tell me if they look like OEM - I might want to go with the Miromoto LED fogs later, and those will only mount to the factory bezels.

Does anyone have an opinion on which kit is better (including the McDonough one)?

    General thoughts on the kits?

    They look OEM to me.

The adjustment screw looks way more convenient on the two ebay items than the McDonough kit. I think mine (McDonough kit) are aimed a bit high, but I'm too lazy to get under there to fix it.

Is anyone running an H11 55w in the fog housing? I saw a few comments about it potentially being too hot and melting the housing. I couldn't find H16, so I bought H11. They physically fit perfectly, but I'm nervous to run them with the potential of being too hot.

I've been running them for almost 2 years. No issues.

Thanks. Good to know! Do you run them constantly? I plan on wiring my fogs to the DRLs and basically using them as additional DRLs.

I only use them when my headlights are on. I do drive at night a lot though.

I didn't know it can handle 55W, I'm using 35W now because I've read somewhere here it'll melt the housing with higher wattage bulbs I believe at 15 W.

I went ahead and ordered a set of 19w. Managed to find 2500k Nokya H16s.

Not sure if I mentioned this in this very long thread already, but you can easily modify H8 35w halogen bulbs to fit H11 applications. Link is in my signature below. Nokya 2500k bulbs are available in H8 which won't burn as hot as the 55w H11 bulbs. They don't sacrifice much output.
