Two Prius family, a 2013 v ( lowercase v ) with 13,000 miles and a 2002 Gen 1 with 178,000 miles. The 2002 has a noisy window mechanism (driver's door, of course). I would like to remove the inside door panel, expose the mechanism and lubricate it. Anyone have good step-by-step instructions on removing the panel without breaking things?
    Thanks,
    Robin

Toyota's instructions are really good. For $15 you can have a two-day window at techinfo.toyota.com to download whatever interests you. It's an old car by now, so if you download the manuals this probably isn't the one and only time you'll use them.

The one thing I've found about their trim removal is, even when their own instructions show a pry tool (usually a tape-covered screwdriver to avoid marring the panel), you never really need one - just think about how to get your fingers in the right places and work the clips out that way. Just about when you're wondering if it's the right amount of force, the clip pops out. Even safer than the taped screwdriver and less likely to crack or mar anything.

I haven't taken off a front door trim yet (I will have to, my driver's lock actuator has failed), but I've done a rear. For that one I ended up sticking my arm inside through the handle hole once the window-switch trim was out, feeling out to the panel edges and just pushing out from the inside.

I've had mine open, don't remember anything particularly tricky or unusual apart from the small screw that has to be removed in the plastic hand hold that allows the hand hold to be removed. I was able to easily remove the panel and get it back on without breaking anything.
