if your going from mailbox to mailbox, there's no place for pulse and glide. it's more like stop and go on the highway, which is an mpg killer.

a prius would still get better gas milage than a regular car doing door to door delivery. the starting phase on a normal car is what really kills the mpg. on a prius, the battery assisted start will save you some gas. i dont see why not to use it for door to door. i would think that a pizza delivery guy would save a few bucks in gas money if driving a prius.

I saved $9.31 on a 119 mile route compared to my Tacoma at 20-25 mpg. But wasn't getting the 53 mpg. More like 30-35 mpg which is still better.

Were you getting 20-25 in your Tacoma? That's amazing for a Tacoma.

    Well T'HERE is the problem.
You need to LET GO of that estimated mileage.

In your situation, you will never get even close.

You did say that on longer highway trips it does much better.
ALL of that is perfectly normal.
I think it is likely that you will not exceed 40 with your "route" driving.......ever.

Yes I calculated that was the mpg for the tacoma. Which is actual the advertised mpg for that year and model.

Make sure you sign up for gasbuddy as well. You can also log your fuel usage there, and you can earn points for reporting gas prices in your area, as well as find out the price of gas at various stations around your town. The points can be used to enter a contest to win a $100 gas card.

Fuelly's site seems to neater as far as tracking your mileage though. Gasbuddy's seems to be hidden away by comparison, so you have to look around for their fuel logbook.

Where and can I get a RHD conversion just for the gas and brake pedals? Or how about pedal extenders? Do they work well when carriers have to sit in the middle?
