2013 PiP Base - Check Hybrid System - Error Code P0D67?

yes, i think there is a recent thread. i'll look for it. no luck, could have sworn i saw a thread where someone got this warning lite. anyhoo, i would check the 12v health as a starting point.

 

Yes, I had that problem early January (not sure where the discussion is either). Tech told us they could find no reason and suggested that we got a bad tank of gas. Car running fine since we got it back.

 

Searching the DTC codes for my 2010 does not show this code. It may be unique for the PiP or newer models.

 

I just had this issue on my 2014 come up this morning. Just dropped it off to get checked

Yes. It took 48 hours for them to diagnose and fix it as it had several codes that they had to narrow down. Turns out they needed to replace a part from the EV charger (I can post the exact code and part number if requested). Dealer was really nice, this is only the 2nd PIP they had in for service, so the time to diagnose took much longer. The part was $1,700, but the dealer was only paid for .75 of an hour for install. My 2014 only has 500 miles on it. They said according to Toyota, its only the 3rd time this part has failed so they are sending it back to Japan for testing

 

....figures I am wrong again...I just made the statement in another thread that we have not really had any HV battery related issues on the PiP, with regard to how people in non-PiP roll-out states would fare in the case of an unexpected HV batt problem...do you think this is a PiP specific part?

 

yes, it's the charger that takes the power from the wall. i think this might be the second one. there have been a few specific pip issues, but very few.

 

It had to do with a circuit in the battery that was not opening and closing the way it should. I was surprised that they had access to the part so quickly. I know PIP are still hard to find in AZ, so I would assume that the experience in a non pip state would be the same. They can fix it, it will just take them longer to diagnose as they do not see many. They get the code, and have a Toyota hotline to call and they tell the tech what to replace

 

I seem to be having the exact same issue, what has been the outcome after the replacement?

 

assuming no news is good news, i would guess he's up and running without issue.

 

Heaven forbid they actually repair something... Always replacing instead.

 

We are talking about complex and specialized computer boards and and such. It really isn't cost effective to have the special test equipment and specially trained technicians at every dealership. Replace the #&!@ thing and ship the defective unit back to a central facility and have the specialists figure out what went wrong and how to correct the design, if necessary.

 

Luscious Garage repairs Prius' all the time, especially the expensive transaxle.

 

It seems this issue has reared it head again with the 2015's. At least three new owners reporting this message and most are getting some sort of charger replaced.
