I went to a dealership this evening and saw a used 2010 Dark Grey Prius V with 58,000 miles. Condition looks great and it has all the upgraded features from what I can tell. (Leather Interior, Heated seats, Upgraded Speakers) The sticker price is $19,995. Negotiations were rough because I wanted to trade in my 2000 Rav 4 in which they were only offering $1,300. I was able to get them to give me a fair price on the trade in of $4,000 but they won't budge on the sticker price. I really like this vehicle, but I can't help but think I'm not getting a good deal. Please let me know what you think, would hate to regret a purchase.
KBB says it's worth roughly $17k-21k, with $19440 as a fair deal from a dealership. Using KBB again, and guesstimating your Rav4's mileage at 100k in good condition, a trade-in is worth $3500. Considering how well priuses hold their value relative to other cars, I'd say it's a pretty good deal for a prius V trim with that trade in amount. You probably could haggle it slightly more, but as mrbigh mentioned, they need to sustain their business, so unless another dealership has a similar car for a lower price, or you're willing to shop around/settle for a different car, you pretty much have to take whatever they have. I took my nephew car shopping earlier this week, and we looked at some used priuses. They were mostly 2010-2012, with mileage anywhere from 50-130k, and the price range on those were $18-21k (typically the higher the mileage, the lower the price).
Huh, never heard of it until you mentioned it. Will have to check it out too then for future reference.
I bought my 2010 V (uppercase V) with atp package a year ago with 57k miles for $14750. Had to replace the rear bumper and a small dent in fender
I didn't feel too good about the deal, so I checked further out and found a 2013 Prius Two (Not a II as Roman numerals were for 2010 model year) with 31,000 miles for $16,999. Traded in my 14 year old vehicle and final price before taxes and fees $14,999. This car is amazing! First thing I'm going to do is get some leather seat covers
There's a 2011 Five in Delaware for $16984 with 50268 miles. I believe the car you are looking at is overpriced.
Hi JimN, thanks for the reply. Fortunately I got a different one. Posted it above. It's a 2013 Prius Base model. Got it for $16,999 at 31k miles
