I have for sale a Yellowtop Optima 12V Aux. Battery for a 2004 Prius. I bought it from Amazon a couple of weeks ago when mine went out and I was trying and save some money. Turns out it was the wrong size for my car. After reading some of the threads on this forum, I've seen people talking about how Toyota used two different sized aux. batteries, depending on the cars options. I've also read how people have modified the opening in order to make the bigger batteries fit into the smaller space. I'm not very mechanically inclined, so I didn't want to screw something up so I just bought the smaller battery. Amazon will not take the battery back because they will not accept "hazardous materials" through the mail. Hey wait a minute? Didn't THEY just SHIP it to ME? Oh well. I can't seem to sell it on Craigslist and don't want to pay to sell it on E-bay, so here I am. The dimensions of the battery are 9.9 x 5.1 x 8.9 inches. OEM part # is 46B24R. It has the smaller posts for the Prius battery clamps. I'm asking $145. Here is the original ad from Amazon
It sells for $147.05 with free shipping on Amazon which is exactly what I paid for it. Show me the ad where it sells for $145.
TED Okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, 147.05 or 145 okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, I just round it down that all, should I round it up to 150)))))))
Ted, if you had a choice between buying the battery from an unknown private person or Amazon for the same price, what would you do ?
Gee, thank you so much for getting on here and taking the time to sabatoge my attempt to sell my battery. You know, this is considered a specialty item because no one except a Prius owner would need it. I can't sell it on Craigslist, so this forum, made especially for Prius owners seemed like the next best idea. Should have known there would be a couple of knuckleheads (kknguyen1168 | PriusChat) trying to screw with someone elses ad. If you aren't interested in buying the battery, fine, but how about NOT screwing up my chances for selling it. You know, there's always someone who wants something for nothing, and I am not giving the battery away for free.
Here's what I'm talking about...keep your opinions to yourself and quit sabatoging my attempt to sell my battery. If you're not interested then keep it to yourself. You are screwing up my chances for selling an item that is going to be VERY difficult to sell, not because of the price, but because it's something only a Prius owner would need, that's why I can't sell it on Craigslist. And yes, $145 is a great price. It's the cheapest price I've found for a battery of that type. There's always somebody who wants something for nothing (you) and I've got news for you...I'm not giving the battery away for free. The price is what it is, so deal with it.
Ted Come down my man, just want to protect all PRUIS CHAT MEMBERS that all, hope you can sell your battery
My intent was to help you sell the item, by politely pointing out that you have asked an unrealistic price. Feel free to ask however much you want, of course; and now that you have put your charming personality on display, let me be the first person to wish you luck in selling the battery for about $30. I've discounted the price $50 to take the seller into account.
Ted, It seems you may have better luck selling on eBay, or being more persistent about the return at Amazon. If I was in your situation, and I felt like I'd exhausted all opportunities for a return, I'd list it on eBay with no reserve and let it ride up to its true value, whatever that may be. Then again, I'm the type of person that doesn't like having useless(to me) stuff sitting around forever. YMMV
There should be no problems installing this battery into a prius 1,base model. I've done this before and it fits fine
