I'd go with Lucious. The transmission needs to be drained and the fluid replaced.

 

If you're going to spend $400, ask for the services you actually need

Transaxle fluid change
coolant change
spark plugs change

All other things are just a waste of money.

You should inquire how much both will charge for a coolant DRAIN/FILL for BOTH, Engine and Inverter side. I'm under the impression that Inverter hasn't been done as well. Do post the prices so we can see home much dealer gouges.

You may be surprised how much lint gets trapped by the HV battery fan; and we don't have a dog, and rarely carry people in the rear seats. I discovered this when I changed my rear struts, since this fan was exposed and accessible.

 

...unless you already changed spark plugs you are ready for that.
You can DIY that on a Gen2...pretty good videos on YouTube, I am thinking that alone is $200 but $30 bucks for plugs if you DIY..

 

Almost forgot. Since you are in the Bay Area, inquire about the service you want done at Art's Automotive in Berkeley. He seems to be equally knowledgeable and equally skilled; also has a solid reputation too. LINK

then i would go with luscious. if you love the service station because you know them, that's fine. but most dealers are a ripoff.

 

Luscious. Doesn't matter what the dealer says is going to happen they'll probably 'f it up.

I own an 07 too. If it was me I would have Carolyn do:

Trans fluid change.
Inverter coolant change.
Have them just dump the engine rad and clean the overflow bottle and fill up the rad with LLC. Its a bitch doing a full coolant change
no matter who you are. Do this rad dump a few times.
Replace spark plugs.
Clean the throttle body real good.
Replace the belt.
Inspect ICE water pump.
Clean & adjust rear brakes.

Good for another 50,000 miles!

 

+1 vote vote for Luscious Garage. I plan to get my 75k service done there when the time comes, despite the fact that it takes me about 75-90 minutes to drive there (I'll just make a day of it in SF and/or the East Bay).

Luscious Garage will actually get under the hood & look at your car (free if charge if it doesn't require any disassembly) and tell you what you need/don't need while Stealerships will stand there in the office and tell you that "Toyota recommends doing ABC service every XYZ miles. Would you like to have that done today?"

My friend got a 90k mile service at a stealership, and they did little other than change oil & air filters, rotate tires, and complete an "inspection" - all to the tune of a few hundred dollars (don't remember the exact price, but it was a HUGE ripoff). The Stealership also recommended changing the serpentine belt for $300. Luscious Garage offered to look at the belt for free to assess whether it needed changing. If it does need to be changed, they charge about $50 for it (including parts and labor).
