Bill seems to have two interests:

    1. Expounding the virtue of alternate Prius transaxle fluids.

    2. Crowing about his Volt.

About a year back, he let everyone know he'd just traded in his Prius (with alternate fluid, some shmuck is likely still driving with that fluid) for a Volt.

He finished by saying "I'm outa here".

Oh wow, how I wish he would have stuck to that. He seems like the kind of guy that doesn't stick to his word much though.

The ignore filter has made this thread much more enjoyable without the Voltroll.

Don't miss this thread. Being able to haul those stuffs and gaining plugin capacity is pricess.

What fits in PiP cargo? | PriusChat

Fuel efficiency (of both gas and electricity) have been class leading. My gas consumption was cut in half with the least electricity (and recharge time) as possible.

The "schmuck" that bought my prius has a really happy transaxle. It's way better off than if I had followed toyota's policy and 'never change the transaxle fluid', you thinks? After my care and attention maybe it can go another 100k miles without a fluid change. Could it have done that with original fluid still in there? Did you see that posted oil analysis?

I appreciate high tech vehicles and maintain them appropriately. I modify and maintain higher tech vehicles than any of these road vehicles.

Carry on, stay the course, burn that foreign fuel. I have moved on. Sorry if I'm enthusiast about the future of road vehicles... and if I offend some...

Apples and oranges Bill, I've got no qualms with changing the fluid, have done it twice. Except, if Toyota tells me to only use Toyota Genuine ATF-WS, and that any other fluid may damage the transaxle, I'm not going to get adventurous, either for myself or a future owner.

    Anyway, I'm outa here. ;)

Very happy with my new Prius. Picked it up this afternoon. Couldn't be happier! Now I have to read the manual!!! Could take a while.

Well I would like everyone to know that the answer to my original question (Regrets moving from prius to PIP) to a resounding no!!! I have only had it for 4 days but I already love it. It has never come out of EV while I do my daily trips and I have only had to charge it twice. The hills seem no problem. I am very very happy. I see myself rarely using gas and only for long trips which are every couple months.

When you get 1,000 miles, post it on the top 20 MPGe thread. You will find out how you did with fuel(s) economy compared to others.
