[comment from the Volt review] "i hear gm loses about 50k with each volt sold""
[comment from the PIP review]"11 miles electric range? Why even bother. Toyota really got this one wrong."

^thanks for the amusing out-takes that let me know that the article is not worth my time to read in its entirety.

The person who wrote that probably never drove any of those cars.

I was thinking the same thing as it was very arbitrary without any specific criteria. There was one car rated well, but hasn't even been delivered yet.

Meanwhile, I can put 8 gallons in my tank and drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles and nearly back. And I don't ever have to worry about finding a charger. None of those other cars come close to that kind of range, do they? But I'm preaching to the choir, I'm sure.

By the way, 50,000 miles in two years and zero defects.

And before you say "no it can't" please remember that you probably would take a stop or two on that trip. During those stops you would have enough time to recharge to get you there.

Pray tell, how? One way from SF to LA is about 400 miles, give or take.

You're claiming almost 100mpg on what would be mostly ICE power, which with all due respect, sounds unrealistic. Unless you stop for a charge every 50 miles.

Yep! Tesla 30 minutes for a 80 percent charge, if I remember right, full charge 50 minutes, 265 miles I think! My numbers may not be exact, but close I think! :)

370 miles, or 740 round trip. I can easily get 600 to 650 miles in my car -- which is "SF to LA and nearly back."

I don't want to put anybody down, but if you drive a Tesla from SF to LA, you need to know exactly where to stop. To be honest, it's not that big a deal. For me, we drive down to disneyland each year. Getting there would be the easy part, but charging while there could be a pain. But, long car trips like that are once or twice a year, so it's not a big deal to take or rent a different car for the camping trip to Yosemite or tahoe.

I saw it and did not post it...made no sense to me.
Is this the one where they said Leaf looks like Jar Jar Binks?

Heck no...just Jar Jar. A Darth Vader car would be sweet! Or even a Yoda!
