Not sure if anyone else if having this problem? In our C, the iPod touch never restarts when you start the vehicle, the head unit always starts playing the CD I always have to hit the mode button to go back to the iPod; if we remove the CD it starts playing the radio at start up. It never just plays the iPod which is always connected. My Gen3 does not have this problem.

Is there a setting on the head unit? Is this something anyone else has experienced?

    Thanks everyone.

The stock head unit will play the last SOURCE used when the engine is started. However, if the last mode (say CD) has no media, it will skip to the next source (RADIO).

My suggestion is to try a different iPod and check if the same condition happens. My hunch is that the unit is not detecting the iPod Touch right away and skips to the next available SOURCE.

You're welcome. Since you have another Prius and iPod, you might as well grab the other USB cable. This way you know you have both working iPod and cable.
