Good price on a new 2014 Prius 3?

Have you considered a Prius Plug-in? The Plug-in is slightly better equipped, comes with carpool lane stickers, gets $1500 back from a California rebate (a few months after you purchase), and a $2500 federal tax credit (which you can get back when you file taxes next year).

I picked up a 2014 III last month for under $23k including leather. Third Prius and I still love them. Enjoy!

 

I paid 25.2K for the 3 (2014) with moon roof & solar panel. Looks like I didn't look hard enough.

 

I'd snag it if I were you. After a slow start of many years, the Prius is becoming very popular, and prices are sure to go up.

 

$22.5 is a very good price.

 

I went through TrueCar when I purchased my Prius. The price I paid was actually $200 less than the TrueCar quote because of minor differences in the actual (optional) equipment in the car I purchased versus what I had requested via TrueCar. I think the TrueCar quote included a cargo net and rear bumper protector, which did not come with the Prius I bought.

The dealer should honor the TrueCar quote to the penny, provided that the car you take delivery of is identical to the car you were quoted, however unlikely that might be. Be prepared to make adjustments if the best match to your ideal quote includes features you didn't particularly want.

I also took my TrueCar quote and shopped it around with a half dozen other local Toyota dealers, but no one would match it... including the Toyota dealer from whom I'd purchased my last vehicle. The closest I got from the other six was $250 MORE than my TrueCar quote... and that was from a local dealer that consistently received bad reviews on various rating sites such as Yelp and Google.

 

Search the internet, find the lowest price you can find, for around your area. Within say 300 miles. Print that internet quote, than take it to your closest dealer, ask them to match it! For me, in Central coastal CA, True Car had the lowest quote I could find, but the True car dealership for that quote was like 45 miles away, where I have two other Toy dealers within 18 miles of my house. I went to both closer Toy dealers, first one did not have the color I wanted on the lot but would match the price, and would "get the exact car for you in a couple weeks". 2nd dealer had the exact car I wanted, but hemmm-ed and Haw-ed about the price, as they said "thats near our cost" (Yea right), until I said OK, I will go get the car at the other dealership. Bam, Sold, EASY! I loved using TrueCar as it so saved me from the usual "Dance" the dealerships want to put you through to get the price down, while the tell you, over and over, "wait, I have to check that out with my sales manager"....

I used Truecar and the discount identified on the savings certificate was good toward any 2014 Prius on the lot. The discount was $4,432 + an addtional $200 AAA discount. Could have used it on a $30k IV or $27k III (or any other in-stock Prius).

 

I would grab it. That is a good deal. You are a good negotiator.

 

I got a Prius 3 out of door for $24080 (with dealer installed window tints and door guards)
The dealers in my area have a low Truecar price, but would have no car with no add ons.
they would all charge me ridiculous prices for the add on's.
the price includes $400 extra which were not part of truecar price
(I paid around $300 for the addons and $100 extra for some dealers fees from what was not on the truecar price.). This is with my bank financing(1.49%) 100% financed, I will pay $980 in interest over 5 years, I still come better off then Toyota 0% financing which would have added $1000 to the price

the car was for $22350 (22050 + 300 addons)

 

i picked my car up from a SoCal dealer for under $23k with tax and fees included. i think the promotion was $1,500 and $500 dealer cash at the time. The current promotion is about the same at $2,000. Most dealers will match a competitor's TrueCar price. My car was a package 3. if you PM me i can send you the sales manager's info.
