Hello All... Well it's finally done. I took it to a shop that I got referrals that they were legit. I paid $130 for them to put them in. The other shop wanted $300. When I came by to pick up my car the mechanic asked me why I was replacing the axles. I told him that the Toyota dealership told me they were going bad, well you guessed it he said that he didn't think they were bad at all. He asked if I had knocking when I turned, I told him the same thing I told Toyota that it happened sometimes but not all the time, mostly when I turned sharp backing up or was turning sharp at a stop. He said well maybe they were a little loose but he picked up my old axles and showed me there was nothing really wrong with them. Oh well lesson learned... At least it only cost me some of my sanity and $430 instead of the dealerships $1650...... thanks to all of you for helping me out and helping me to get a bit smarter about the dealership. I love my car and so happy you all are here for all of us non-mechanical people.

Well, when you now "turn sharp", what noise do you hear?

He probably hears the loose nuts and bolts from his front axles clunking around in his head.

I hear clicking noise when turning and dealer said I needed a half shaft cv.

Replaced both left and right hand side no more clicking. Had it done.

My car had 123k so it was due. Replaced at my mechanics labor was better

Parts at advance was 80 dollars per axle.

Dealer wanted about 900 for labor and parts just have it done elsewhere
