Thule Roof Rack with Aeroblade

    I installed the Thule Roof Rack with Aeroblade instead of the regular square crossbars. Thule claims the Aeroblade is quieter than the regular crossbars. And they were correct! I have had the regular crossbars and couldn't stand the noise at highway speeds. But, with the Aeroblade it is noticeably quieter.

    What I have istalled:

    Traverse 480r base
    53" Aeroblade
    1566 Fit kit

    I plan on putting my surfboard and kayak on there. But, I will put on and off those attachments when I need them. I have a hitch mount rack for my bikes.

    Yeah, all the attachments...bike, kayak, surfboard, cargo work for the AeroBlade.

    Stearicom - old thread but I'm thinking about getting this system for my new-to-me prius (2006). Do you know if the "edge" model is available for that rack - the ones that don't protrude out to the side but stop at the mounts?

    Also, now that it's been a while since you've installed them, I'm wondering if you have any thoughts - is there a gas mileage hit?

    Afaik there is no Edge model for Gen2. I just recently purchased wing bar for my Gen2 2008.

    I'm on the fence with these and the Yakima Whispbar setup. They do look good on your car though!

    In croatia i have paid 420€ for towers, wingbar and 2 proride 591 bike carriers.
