My 2012 Prius Plug-in Advanced appears to have updated itself recently from EnTune 1.2.2.30393 to 1.3.232356
Entune is a bit of a pain for those of us who live outside the lower 48. Not only doesn't it work, but it causes a bit of chaos on the system when you plug in an Android phone. My phone screen flashes constantly, it beeps and it shows an error having to do with installing a "Google hangout." It also caused one of the apps to activate; "Pictures" which only contains one image, which happens to be the album cover from one of my music files. I believe it may work better with iPhones, but I don't have much knowledge or experience beyond my own. The service manager at my dealership said the texting function started to work in his car only after he took a trip to the US, and came back. My work-around consists of simply plugging my phone into a power-only USB adapter in a 12V power socket. The data USB port contains a USB flash drive with all my audio content, and it works quite well for that purpose. Although the Entune system seems to serve the core market in the US fairly well, it leaves nothing for the other 15-20 percent of the market. It looks like an 85% solution from a company who usually delivers 110% in other ways.
Thanks so much for the info & screen shot! I was trying to figure out how to get the messages feature to work! iPhone ?
Thanks! Got a "new" to me 2012 prius today and was able to update from 1.7 to 3.2. Very cool features. Thanks.
This sounds like they wanted to update the Navigation system, because that is how much the nav system costs.
I have the standard 2012 PIP and went to the dealership to get entunes updated to 2.1 from 1.84. He only had 3.2 entunes. Installed fine. I was the first one to do it here at this dealership in Milwaukee. He also mention that they don't even service PIP here in the Midwest and it takes a while to get parts in. Hope nothing goes wrong with my PIP.
He's pulling your leg! There is not anything different from the regular Prius, Well almost anything, some small changes. No big deal. My dealer here in Wisconsin has no problems with my car! Enjoy your car and do not worry everything will be fine.
I don't know what parts He's talking about. If He does not service them how does He know how long it takes to get parts for them?
if u not driving to heavy traffic metro cities such as New York running entune, 2.1 and 3.2 makes no difference. if u using ipod and hated auto play 3.2 fix the issue on 2.1. no dramatic HMI changes but small changes and bug fixes as usual
Thanks, I noticed you are using fuelly. Did fuelly change there format to allow for our extremely high miles now. I stopped using it for that reason,,,I was getting over 1000 miles on a tank and it wouldn't track it.

The only thing that did not show and figure out was my one tank of about 3200 miles, but my tanks of 1600 to 2500 miles per tank are all figured out just fine.
There is some level of "Toyota plug-in service certification". Smart Motors here in Madison carries that certification, which is rather unique in this non-PiP market.
Yes! my dealer sent his tech's to the classes for certification, He said it was no big deal and there were teck's from all over minnesota, Iowa and wisconin their, so I think we will be just fine.
Sorry. Noob question: How can you determine which version of Entune you have in the vehicle? The app on my iPhone is v 1.12.310.56
Again, thanks. I do indeed have an Advanced. It's in the shop getting tinted windows. I'll use your method to check the firmware version when I pick it up this evening. It's only 4 days old and I want to confirm the dealer upgraded to the latest.
Turns out I'm way behind. I have version 1.3.2xxxxx Seems I remember discussion of pulling upgrades off a USB stick, held exclusively by the dealers. Have I got that right? Now I'm wondering if my vehicle has been sitting around at a dealership for months. Any place I can see a dated progression of Entune upgrades?
