My search is over. The out of town is delivering my Prius five Monday. It's a 2012 with 30, 000 miles in it. Its loaded with all the goodies ATP and Hud navigation. I'm trading my 2012 PRIUS three solar roof, leather with 56000 miles on it for 3500 difference. I couldn't pass it up. Seems like a good deal but time will tell. Thanks to all of you that posted replies to my questions this past week. You guys rock.
Enjoy the new car! I traded my 70,000 2010 III for a 2014 Three with Solar for very little difference ... Nice to drive a fresh one with the features I wanted to begin with
Congrats. Same model I have. Unfortunately I find the nav completely useless and just use a garmin. It plays my ipod music well tho I couldn't live without the drcc now that I've been driving with it over two years now. Best feature any car could ever have imho.
Smart move. The Prius 5 is my second favorite Prius after my Prius Plug In Advance. My plug in has all but two of the ATP options (LKA & PA) to include the 17" Persona wheels.
Robert, I'm just hoping I'm not making a mistake. My PRIUS three is one nice car. I'm sacrificing the sunroof for a multitude of options I think will be most useful. Here in Texas it gets scorching got and the solar roof really works well. Time will tell. Enjoy your new car.
I think it just depends on your needs and in my case what I really wanted when I bought my first one. If this is what I bought when I got it I wouldn't have gotten another I think. So there may be some trade offs . Enjoy!
They delivered my car today. It was two days late but omg was it worth the wait. I took a chance and bought it over the internet just by the pictures and talking to the salesman. Being that it's still under factory warranty have me a sense of security. I've never bought a used car this clean. There is not a single rock chip or door ding anywhere. The two tone leather seats look like it's brand new. This is a hugh difference over my three model of the same year. It's been worth the wait
That's awesome! Do a search here for a guy you can order the extended warranty on line. For a little over $1000. Oh, and post some pics!

Thanks Don. I called Mike Calvert Toyota last Saturday for an extended warranty quote for 6 years 100000, an oem platinum. They quoted me 2495. I told him where to stick it. I then called sterling Mccall toyota and they quoted me 1178. Guess which one I'm going with. Jessie James used a gun when he robbed people. It pays to shop around.
Actually if you shopped more here for info you would have found a lot of advice telling you to save your money. The $1200 you're spending on that warranty will likely go completely wasted. You never know though I suppose, but that's the nature of insurance.
Probably. But with a used car you can never know where it was before. New is a different story. If it's used I'm more likely to do it so in wouldn't fault the OP for taking a precaution that may give more peace of mind on their purchase.
Small fixed amount up front, but I hope your Prius is problem FREE for many years and miles. Makes sense to me. The question to buy or not buy a extended warranty is always a hot topic on any car forum. It's fair to offer pro & con advice to someone asking for opinions prior to purchase. I think it's unfair to criticise someone's decision after they've made it and purchased. Positive reenforcement is always welcomed. Although the Prius is a proven reliable vehicle, only Toyota dealers and a small amount of speciality independent mechanics are qualified to work on the hybrid system.
