    Wait ... wait . . . . WAIT!!!

1st - it was a year ago ... Erica, how's the one year old doing now !?! Remember? .... maternity leave? It was a whole year ago already that we last heard from you on this thread! We hope all is going well with your (relatively) new family at home. How's Douge?! Give him our best!

New Prius family member Nathan - WOW!! ... I do NOT envy your obviously difficult job ... balancing the interests of the wildly popular PiP ... introduced into only a handful of states ... yet competitively working against the volt ... and having to - at the same time hock Toyota's hydrogen project - which was sadly dumped, unwillingly on us poor overtaxed (already) Californians. Wow ... dude ... you - I admire. Mission impossible. We will be fighting - tooth and nail - against this horrible waste of CA tax/DMV registration dollars to the n'th degree detrementally flying in the face of the PiP's MUCH more huge potential. Too bad Toyota has been unwilling to even attempt to show any rational basis for such a project of blatent folly while promising so little for further PiP or (much less) rav4ev promotion.

Way to welcome Nathan, hill! Boy talk about scaring him away, lol. We'll get him totally up to speed and be back here with some updates as soon as possible re BEVs, FCs, etc. 4th Gen planning is well under way of course, no promises for the same sorts of parties we ran with 3rd gen but we're definitely considering how we can engage our best customers/brand advocates in new ways. So, stay tuned.

Yes, it was a year ago I was in this thread signing off for maternity leave. I can't believe it either. My 11 mo old is doing great, giving new meaning to an early walker and keeping me very busy. The 3 yo loves her little bro and is mostly great to him. Thanks for asking hill.

    Best,
    Erica

Reminds me of the story about the old man planting tree saplings. Someone asked,
"Why are you doing this? You will be long dead and forgotten when these trees are grown."

He finished that one looked up and said,
"I'm doing it for the children."

And he stood up and walked to a Prius for more.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I am a long-time fan and advocate of hybrid and plug-ins and look forward to the dialogue regarding Toyota's portfolio of electrified vehicles. My previous experience was in strategic research and I have conducted extensive study to understand advanced technology vehicle customers and the market demand for these vehicles. I welcome your thoughts & comments on this dynamic segment.
Based upon the recent comments on Prius Chat, it is clear that there are a lot of strong feelings toward Fuel Cell Vehicles. Some are skeptical but many of you share our excitement for the launch of our Fuel Cell Hybrid next year. This is a remarkable technology and it will represent the most cutting edge and advanced passenger vehicle available. We know it won't be for everyone, but are looking forward to launching this vehicle with pioneering customers. Looking forward to the undoubtedly lively discussion about this technology.

Nice to hear from you Nathan! Thanks for the brief fill-in regarding your background (strategic research). Strategic studies is such a broad topic - I wasn't too certain what its boundary limits are. According the wiki topic:
My eyes started to glaze over.
    :)
What with fossil fuels (necessary for the lion's share of hydrogen distillation) having peak production limits at some future point - and the high cost of FC development, yea, I can see how your background comes into play . . . . welcome!

    Thanks Nathan,

I look forward to when toyota sells a plug-in in texas. As for whatever toyota sells or leases in limited production in california only, I severly doubt its the "most cutting edge and advanced passenger vehicle available". For one thing its not available, and at least from what has been released it doesn't sound as advanced as the tesla S and i3, cars that a Texan can actually buy and fuel.

    Welcome Nathan!

Boy would I love to experience the Fuel Cell Hybrid. Unfortunately for an Upstate NYer, that isn't going to happen for a very long time. So my enthusiasm for such a vehicle is unrequited. I'm sure these are California bound and I'm on the wrong side of the country and not close to the east coast. I'd love to see (and experience) what type of motor you'd come up with for the all-electric drive as well as the opportunity to learn something new again. As for us Northeasters, I'd suggest an AWD option if you guys ever come this way.

    Hello Everyone,
Wanted to give you all an early look at the new Prius Plug-in Hybrid ad campaign that launches this week. It features a couple of TV spots and an online video.
The goal is to help educate people about the benefits of Prius PHV in a fun and interesting way.
Below are links to the TV spots and video.

    Enjoy!

I'm glad you are rolling out better ads.

Short critique. The third is by far the best. Good graphics even if you don't care, then information if you keep watching. The first one isn't going to help sell any. Its cute, and gives two points of information, you don't have to plug it in and it exists, but didn't look like any reason to buy. The second is better then the first, it at least had some basic humor and explained what was better about the plug-in versus the liftback.

Now just get the dealers on board, and sell it in more states;)

The first one would be more impressive if the power went out and the house plugged-in to the Prius. <grins>

I'm so happy I could cry . . . .. Danny isn't in it, wearing a red curly yarn-wig. I'd give anything to have him change back his avatar where he was just simply standing next to his Prius, wearing his cargo shorts and flippy floppies.

The first and second were good, but the third one creeped me out for the first few seconds. No cars on highways to San Francisco? Seriously? I was half expecting a post-apocalyptic theme and thought his first passenger was going to to be a survivalist.
