It is very relevant. Anytime you are talking about measuring something it is (at least somewhat) important as to how accurate (or precise) the measurements are. If your numbers are accurate, you can be assured that they make sense to what someone else is measuring. If they are precise, you know that you are getting measurements that are varying just due to noise.

Has anyone noticed a difference with the Entune application? For example, with today's drive, when I shut the car down, it showed that I had 208 MPG for that trip segment. An hour later, when I queried the Entune server, the Entune application showed 194.8 MPG. This leads me to the belief that there may be two calculations at work here....one used to drive the display that the driver sees when they shutdown and the other used to transmit the data to the Entune servers on the built-in cellular modem. This is not the first time that I have noticed the discrepancy but thought I would post it here to see if anyone else has seen this....

    Thanks,

    Phil

I think "hand calculated" means doing the math of miles traveled and gallons pumped. As compared to looking at the display.
You'll get the same number whether using paper and pencil, a calculator, a spreadsheet, fuelly or an app...since they all have the same inputs values (assuming you do the math right).
