Let me explain why I'm even trying to do this. I want to install some Clazzio leather seat covers in the car with their respective heating elements. The switches they come with should fit the remaining 2 pop-out buttons in the middle console (with a dremel modification ). I'd like to move the ECO mode button to the left of the EV button so that it would look like this: ---------------- - ECO --- EV - ---------------- - H1 --- H2 - ---------------- Here is a link to what available switches they have. I want to use the IBHS2: Clazzio Leather Seat Covers - Heated Seats Page I'd imagine I could just pop them out, disconnect the terminals behind them and reconnect them, but I want to make sure there won't be any ramifications first. Any ideas are appreciated.
i actually had the same idea as you. i believe that the buttons can be relocated granted that the wiring has enough slack. the buttons are the same size so shouldnt be a problem. let us know how it turns out.
The buttons are soldered to a circuit board that's one unit. That would make them very difficult to relocate but NOT impossible.
I'd imagine I could just pop them out, disconnect the terminals behind them and reconnect them, but I want to make sure there won't be any ramifications first. Did that a year ago. They are spade terminals. There isn't any circuit board or soldering.
