I had the Defenders; took about 4 MPG hit.
Took them back to Discount Tire, and replaced them with Energy Savers A/S.(y)
You can not go wrong with Michelin Energy Savers A/S:cool:.

Thanks for chiming in. I have the Premier now and I'm gonna swap them out with the Energy Saver A/S maybe in the next two weeks.

I have heard that the Michelin Premier A/S is a good tire!! I have not driven on them, so I don't really know?
Look at some of the reviews from other Prius owners at Discount Tire, and other tire shops.
What I do know ..... On any tire, it will take about 500 miles, to break it in.;)

^ That last sentence is plausible, but:

I've put on new tires (EP20 on a Civic Hybrid, replacing EP20), and seen no downgrade in mpg. I suspect the break-in period statement is popular with tire dealers in particular.

A new tire has to be seated and sealed around the rim; and putting some miles on the tire is the best way to do it.
I have gotten tires before, that I had to put air in them, ever other day, for about 3 weeks!!o_O
To break them in, it does take some tread wear on the tire.
I said about 500 miles; some tires less, some more!!

I'm gonna driv ea few more miles this week. I dove about 400 over the weekend doing random errands here and there, and I can tell you the ride quality on the Premier A/S is WORSE than the Defenders. It reminds me of the OEM YOKO AVIDS, but without the LRR
