I am considering buying a 2004 Prius with 117,000 miles. It is has been well serviced and a one owner car. It is selling for $9890.00. Is this car to buy or walk away from and consider another car? Thank you.

I sold my 2011 Prius 2 with 34000 miles for 14K, that suggests that the 04 is waaaaay overpriced.

For that price, you should be able to get a 2007 or 2008. I recently purchased my 2006 with 125K miles for $5,500 from a private seller. I did take a gamble with all the warning lights on, but turned out to be just a weak 12v auxiliary battery and it needed a communication/registration id reset.

Yes the car runs great. I'm averaging over 50 mpg on a regular basis. I had the AC recharged and I changed the CVT oil recently. So far no issues at all. I expect the HV battery to go at some point but with all the options these days it should be the only big expense I'm expecting. But since I got it so low, I've factored in the HV battery replacement.
