    Electricity 101:
    • Batteries wired in SERIES cause their VOLTAGES to add.
    • Batteries wired in PARALLEL cause their CURRENT capacity to add.

    I believe you'd want a PARALLEL connection rather than a SERIES connection of additional batteries, so that the KWhr power (range) is increased.
