Where did you get your miniVCI?

My last one was from was from IMMOKM but they have lost or changed their URL and it no longer lists the miniVCI.

    Thanks,
    Bob Wilson

Is there any way to upgrade the 1.4.1 firmware to one that supports K-line or do I have to return mine and buy one that supports K-line?

What about trying a google search on MVCI mfu and seeing what you get with that?

I opened mine and the Siliconix PHY K-Line chip was soldered in, the L-Line chip is not, adding a chip MAY help. I have not tried this.

Does the Prius even support K line? I bought a mini vci that supposed to support k line but the Prius reported unsupported. It had the same old firmware So I returned it. After I click the health check, my Current mini vci with the old firmware was able to connect to all the ECUs

    cproaudio,

Where you found the K line is not supported with Prius?
How many ECUs were identified from your Prius? Mine reported 23. Not sure that is all ECUs or not.

No need to be sorry. Read like you had ordered and figured I'd ask to see if the $34 Mini VCI cable worked with what appears like a Gen3+ Prius... though might be the PHV's are the 2012-2016 title and Prime the later I guess considered Gen4 title. Maybe they're their own generations one and two respectively per the Wiki. Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid - Wikipedia

Reads like the Mini VCI's are or were variable in regards to quality of performance. Just noticed the post was from like 2014.

Which version is the "old firmware" do you have on the "current mini vci" noted? Anything new regarding the Mini VCI you recommend? I'm trying to see what's the best cost effective Mini VCI options to avoid problems if not a random crap shoot and even if so, maybe use some combinations and probabilities in our favor.

I mainly, for now, want to see what can do for detailing the wiper performance issue. However, does seem similar where like I planned to use the OBDLink SX USB dedicated for the 2001 Dodge Ram, I'm best to invest in a SAE J2532 compatible reader dedicated for the 2013 Prius 2 use.

Are either or both the "K" or "L" lines required to read the wiper performance metrics?

What is required to read the wiper metrics?

You are posting in the Gen 1 forum, and while there might be some generic information about the Mini VCI that be of use to you, the Gen 3 specific questions that are then asked might better be asked in a Gen 3 thread.

Find some Mini VCI threads in the Gen 3 forums using the Advanced Search* feature to limit your query to the Gen 3 forums and their children). You also have the option of starting your own thread in the Gen 3 forums.

I'm sure the Gen 3 owners will have better advice for your specific questions.

    * Advanced Search: Click into the search box at the top right on any page and then click on the "More..." button on the pop-up window. Scroll down to find the "Search in Forums:" section and then scroll within that box to find the "Gen 3 (2010-2015) Toyota Prius Forums" and click on it to select it. Check the "Search child forums as well" option below this selection list (if it is not already checked). Fill in any of the other fields as required to hone in on your query. Enjoy.
