Have owned 2010 and 2012 Prius. Currently driving a Nissan Leaf for last 14 months. Been thinking of picking up a used Prius. So have my eyes on a 2007 Prius with 80 k miles, going to check it out tomorrow and if it works out plan to get a pre purchase inspection done.

My question? Any concerns or any problems with this model year? Thanks any advice is appreciated.

My advice: Buy a Prius and keep it for more than a year.

Love my 07 bought new. Ate one front wheel bearing at 30K fixed under warranty, and the tsb's have been about it. Go through alot of tires down here in Florida too.

Really good little car.Wife drives it like a regular car gas pedal on gas pedal off and still gets 43 mpg's.

Plan on buying new tires and a new 12 volt battery and maybe a trans fluid change and that will be about it.

No particular concerns about the model year.

I am wondering: if you had previously owned a 2010 and 2012 and apparently were not happy enough with those vehicles to keep them for more than a brief period, what is it about the 2007 that would prompt you to buy it?

Also why hybrids make far more sense than pure electrics for most people.

    Nexus 4 ?

Unless you like owning a really expensive golf cart whose range you can count on to be only ~75 miles.

Just check that the recalls (if any) have been fixed. I have the 2008 that has had three recalls (carpet issue, steering column, cooling pump).

I had a 07 and now have a 08. Both awesome. Did a PHEV covversion On the 07. It was 4kw. It was unreliable. Enginer system. My 08 is pristine.

I've seen some on PC even refer to the Model S in the same fashion. Perhaps, some day in the not too distant future, as fossil fuels dwindle - there'll be more EV's on the road than there are golf carts around the world. Perhaps then - the derogatory branding will finally be thrown off. Who knows - in that day EV's may become more popular and practical than the ICE - and an equally derogatory term will be applied to the ICE mode of transportation. In that day, I suggest we'll refer to the antiquated ICE as an 'expensive lawn tractor'
