Most Important Prius Flaw Ever

Oh that? That's just a holdover from the early design stage. That was the original shape of the Prius, which changed, but nobody thought to change the software for the MFD. I thought everyone knew that.

 

Must've been upgraded due to clean living during it's previous life!

Nowhere NEAR as important as the different number of wheel spokes when you look inside or outside the spinning wheels on the energy screen!

 

It's worse than you think, Bob R. It means that the energy you save by regenerating is automatically transferred to the nearest classic Prius. We thank you in advance.

 

Speaking of MFD flaws, my right rear wheel fell off one day after I forgot to tighten my lug nuts, and as I was dragging along showering everyone behind me with sparks, the appropriate MFD wheel was STILL spinning. Obviously, it was wrong.

 

That sucks! The MFD saved me when I noticed a screw in one of the tires. I was already on my way to the shop by the time the pressure warning sensor kicked off.

 

I'm weeping. And stop calling me "Shirley".

 

Your cars have wheels? Didn't you guys get the hover package? Makes traffic a breeze...

And why does it show the wheels without the plastic trim covers?? I don't remember removing mine...sometimes it frightens me to the point where I have to pull over and get out of the car to make sure the plastic trim is still intact on all 4 wheels. :huh:

 

Well, obviously, that's how the wheels were supposed to come, but the car ended up looking too good and "non-Priusy" that way... and the covers were added to the design at the last minute.

 

I certainly wouldn't put this at the top of my list of Prius faults.

The seats are at the top of mine. After about 100 miles I am ready for traction for my back.

Oh my gosh! I ALMOST did the same things!!!

The morning after I installed the mudflaps, I'm driving to work and I start thinking about the install the afternoon before. AND I can't remember in my mind tightening the lug nuts on my rear passenger side tire. I pulled into the conveinience store, got out the tool.. and sure enough, they all tightened up another 1/4 tire turn! It's amazing how your mind works sometimes,... forgets when the task in right in front of you, remembers it 14 hours later!

 

Malfunctioning MFDs are known to cause the shedding of a wheel or two. Or it could be the lug nuts thing.

 

If you take a look again you'll see that you're responding to a thread that was last replied to over 13 years ago.
