So I was initially impressed with the OP, and still am. However, there seems to be some consensus that a Prius owner should expect to achieve many miles of mostly (if not absolutely) trouble-free driving.

If I'm reading things correctly, this makes me even more ecstatic.

My VFD went out but Toyota has some crazy new 11 year unlimited mileage extended warranty on it so it was replaced for free.

I had to have it towed once because the inverter overheated. Why? Because I had just had the inverter pump recall done and they didn't plug the pump back in so 10 miles out from the dealer, the red triangle popped up.

So the only serious thing that has ever happened was caused by the dealer. In fact, the only serious things I've ever had go wrong with a car have all been because a dealer messed something up.

JC - lighten up, we are all in the same family! (y) Because of Lexus and their over engineering of the LS 400, I am sure much was learned which helped in the development of the first Prius.

I'm very easy going, not that I was being harsh. Just didn't want to change this into a lexus thread

    SM-N900P ?

Gald to know, because I see Toyota and Lexus as the same, even though they are now separate companies, each are responsible for their own budgets and success.

The coolant for the inverter and engine was changed out at 150,000K. Something I overlooked at 100K. The spark plugs were changed out at 138,000. I changed the plugs myself, prepare to have a sore back afterwards for leaning over the front end. :) I could have gotten more life out of my front pads, about 50% used up, but I went ahead and switched them out with new ceramic pads. The belt that drives the water pump was very worn and needed replacement. That was recommended by the dealer to replace it since I had it in for the recall. I asked for the part back to look at it myself.
