Advanced Technology Package or not how to know for sure ?

Dealers "were" during the winter months offering about $3500 off the MSRP of the Prius plus $1500 rebate from Toyota. Bringing the discount to $5000.

 

you can text a message to our regular "dorunron", he just bought a 2013 a few weeks ago. He can let you know how much discount he got.

These things vary by region but I'm sure the deals are quite similar.

Although these aren't in the right part of the US for you, here are some examples of openly advertised deals:
Toyota Sunnyvale | New Toyota dealership in Sunnyvale, CA 94087 - this dealer is reputable. I bought my 06 Prius from them and wouldn't hesitate to shop there again.
Exclusive Toyota Special Offers & Discounts From Piercey Toyota near san jose - My parents have bought cars from them before. I helped a friend buy an '11 Prius there at end of 2011. They were ok except for the very high pressure F&I person.

 

FWIW, piracy is frowned upon here. There have been numerous posts from moderators to that effect (e.g. 2013 Navigation Disk Update for 2011 Prius | PriusChat).

 

If you own your GPS DVD's (even used) you can clone a copy for your self though. Additionally, by using older loading files on newer DVD data bases, many Prius owners have created hybrid GPS DVD's that allow MFD features that are disabled on newer dvd's.

 

If it has the small little sensors on the side of the front bumper then it has the Advanced Technology package. You can see it in the picture below.

 

Older Navtec GPS DVD loading files (iirc the 'kwi' files) were capable of defeating the Prius' lockout features such as mfd phone dialing while in motion - or address lookup while in motion. SO - although the Prius isn't designed to let you use those functions on the fly-those features were capable of being enabled via the GPS's DVD ...

I don't know about the latest & greatest versions. But even if they're hack proof now, there are other ways to skin a cat. This company, for instance;
TOYOTA LOCKPICKS
Makes an over-ride that performs the same way as the DVD mod. Essentially both methods act to temporarily override the vehicles' speed sensors, which spoofs the system into believing the car isn't moving - thus allowing full mfd functions. It'd be best to call, but from a quick glance at a few of the coastal e tech web pages, it looks like 2014 is when they're finally getting around to delivering their Gen III product.

The steering wheel has the LKA button. No other model has it.
