I just called the dealership to schedule the Safety Recall for this Friday since I was taking a vacation day, part of the reason was to take the car in for the recall. I was told that they were booked up this week and that it would be next Friday before she could schedule me. She did find a time slot for 3:00 that was available and I took that.

I was really surprised that after this much time that they are still that booked up. It is good to know though that they are getting plenty of experience :)

Update showed up today on the Toyota Owner's website. It doesn't specify which recall it's for, it just says "10-14 PRIUS UPDATE."

Here is what is on the Toyota Owner's website for my recall: EOE-REFLASH MOTOR GENERATOR AND POWER MANAGEMENT ECU-PRIUS
EOE - SAFETY RECALL EOE, C/S

It also lists my Repair Order Number and they gave me a copy.

Had the recall done last week on my 2010 Prius with 100k miles. Less than one tank so far, but it looks like a 10% increase in MPG! It has been averaging less than 40mpg during the winter (northern WY - very cold). Since the recall it is up to 45 mpg.

Just got oil change at 41,000 mi, but they were too busy to do the update. It was a zoo in the service section. Have to schedule, probably next week some time.

There's absolutely no reason why they should all be different... (n)

Different DMS (Dealer Management System software such as ADP, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack) can have different labor and warranty operation codes.
As long as the op codes are accepted by TMS/TMC, the dealer gets paid.

I had the recall and summer tire TPMS re-program done yesterday. (They only charged me $30 for the TPMS reprogram.) When I picked up the car, I noticed the SOC of the drive battery was at one bar - lowest I'd ever seen. I assumed it was drained while they reprogramed the TPMS. The SOC recovered as I drove home and it was fine this morning. I've driven about 85-90 miles since picking the car up and it seems to drive about the same, maybe with slightly less acceleration when pushed hard.

The recall has a code - E0E. That code should appear on Toyota's website for everyone who has the recall performed, regardless of what software the dealers are using.

Actually, the labor operation code for campaign SSC-E0E is AGG09 with a suffix A through F depending on what specific action was taken, such as reprogramming only, inverter replacement due to preexisting failure, inverter replacement due to failed programming, power management ECU replacement, etc... That code is what the dealer submits to TMS for warranty payment.
I think we've strayed off topic here. I'll stop now.

Nothing is wrong. It's Carmax, not a Toyota dealership. They don't have the ability to perform a recall, nor would you want them messing with it. There shouldn't be any reason for alarm. Just take it to a Toyota dealership when you are able to and have them do the recall if you wish. It takes between 1-2 hours from most reports.

Took mine in yesterday morning. They had it done in about 45 minutes.

The specific action: AGG09A EOE-Reflash Motor Generator & Power Management ECU-Prius

I can tell absolutely no difference. Pwr Mode still feels the same, Eco same, Normal same, braking same, display same.

For all I can tell, the only change was that the car was cleaner from the car wash.
