BTW, I think the headlight assemblies come adjusted as low as they can go from the factory. Mine were pointed below bumper of the car a few feet in front of me for example.

It took me several times of adjusting them and then examining them the next time I drove at night to finally get them adjusted right without them being too high.

My left and right was also not at the same level initially.

I recommend you first adjust them so they are at the same level, then, adjust each one by about the same amount of turns each time until you get the proper height.

Driving on a rainy night on low lights are scary. Stuff just sneaks up on you. It is hard to adjust driving on low beam sometimes.

I have no problem with that now that I adjusted my lights higher. Visibility is pretty darn good actually. Was definitely quite poor before the adjustment however. It was only illuminating right in front of my bumper.

Does anybody know if the auto-leveling system that comes with the LED lights has any adjustment available? (If so, I'm assuming it would be electronic, and performed by the dealer.) Mine are adjusted pretty well for when I'm driving alone - but if I have a full car, that pushes the back end down, which makes the auto-leveling system point the headlights down more, and it tends to overcompensate.

I did use the procedure in your link, so thank you!
My headlights were 27 inches above the ground and I used a 25 inch height at a distance of 25 feet to aim the shade line. My left headlight was too high, right headlight was too low, so I adjusted them using a #2 Phillips in the cutout beside the toothed washer in the adjustment mechanism as in the pics below.

Hope this helps someone else .

I joined this chat specifically because of a very frightening drive home tonight through Kangaroo ally in the rain. Just got this car in January and I haven't driven at night until now. :) I am a driving instructor with my name emblazoned all over my car and some aggro 4wd driver honked and high beamed me and cut me off and got out of his car to tell me his opinion of my crap driving. what a lovely advertisement for my school. very scary on all accounts. thanks for confirming this problem. ;-) and I see you got it fixed. phew.

Carry a dashcam and load up the experience to youtube next time. Works a treat for embarrassing d**k heads. Might make the local news if you get loads of hits. They'd love it "Road rage idiot confronts driving school car".

And you could always call the cops and say he pulled a gun? Or is that wrong

I Like the dash cam idea, but I would not joke about pulling guns here in the U.S. as the threat is all too real. You both live in gun control countries and so can joke about it, but here we live with the realization that any yahoo who acts aggressively may well be also carrying a gun. I personally saw a guy driving along while waving a handgun outside the driver's side window, and for years a relative drove his car with a secret compartment in the dashboard where he had a loaded 38 caliber revolver concealed "just in case". As I write this, a sniper has been taking pot shots at cars on the highways in the Kansas City area for the last week or more. So guns more a serious possibility in traffic here.

First long drive in the night and I agree with the problems in this thread. Looking forward to to trying out the aiming techniques on my 13 V
