I saw the thread recently posted about buying a higher mileage Prius and I am kind of in the same situation. I am looking for a Gen II, but not concerned about the condition of the battery (I am a rebuilder) and my shop can handle any other minor problems with the car. I have found a couple of adds on craigslist that I was hoping someone can look over with me and maybe see something I am missing before I drive several hours to check them out. Here are the adds: ***** PRIUS HYBRIDS *** *** 50 MPGs *** *** PRICES BEGIN AT ONLY 2007 Toyota Prius, touring edition 2008 Toyota Prius Electric windows Hybrid-Electric 2007 Toyota Prius Power Steering Thanks Y'all! Oh snap! I am glad you caught that! I just emailed someone recently about a Prius for sale and got the whole "I am an oceanographer working on a vessel out at sea....just send money to my bank," scam lol. Jessica
If I was going to do something like the above, I would first register the car at the Toyota Owners Website and read the records there. I would also get the carfax on it. Any collisions will raise red flags imo. #1 looks like nothing but trouble to me. Did not look at #3. #2 may be suitable but not up to Toyota quality standards. If it was, it would be on a Toyota lot. Definitely high mileage for the age of the car. Typical fleet car or salesman type. Might be OK or could be trouble too. I strongly suggest you inspect the vehicle thoroughly before purchasing which would include a full inspection by a hybrid specific technician.
Bought this bad boy for $3,700 today. I feel like I stole it, its so cheap and practically perfect! All it needed was the battery, which I installed in 30 minutes. Gotta love a good deal 2005 TOYOTA PRIUS HYBRID! CASH SPECIAL!
I'm jealous of me too, lmao! I was on my way to get another car that had some serious problems to deal with when God sent me this little silver angel . Wow, I'm a dork. Jessica
