I finally did it, I wasn't planning on buying a Plugin as my goal with the Gen II was to get 300k miles (190k miles currently). I couldn't pass up the incentives and I found one with the HOV sticker. 2014 PIP Classic Silver Purchase Price: $26,502.00 +tax&license Invoice: Unknown Sticker: $31,092.00 Base Model with Floormats and Wheel locks Hopefully the CA rebate comes in that's and extra $1,500. iPad ?
By the way, now that the state rebate is shot (at least for now) and potentially the stickers too, prices appear to be dropping. I received an email this morning from a SoCal dealership offering me the Blizzard Pearl for $25,864 + TTL = $29,000 out the door (60 payments of $484 with $0 down).
I know why they're offering you a cheaper price than before the $3000 rebate now. I got the same offer from two dealers today. The reason is April rebate is $4000 which is $1000 more than last month. I should have waited and could have saved $1000. But then again, the sticker probably ran out already so if you buy in April, you will save more money but is not qualify to get a sticker. That's a trade off and that is the reason why the price decreased.
Is it a for sure thing that the April purchases will not qualify for a sticker? I saw somewhere that there still are around 1000 available as of March 29th. I'll be signing my contract tomorrow for my PIP in Blizzard white (base) which I paid $29k OTD.
1000 stickers left as of 5 days ago. but now its probably gone. worth a try though to submit. the application. but see if you can get them to give u sticker right away. some dealers already have them ordered, u just have to push them to give u
The finance cash jumped from $2000 in March to $4000 in April, which more than makes up for the lost $1500 CA state rebate. As johntrung22 mentioned, the focus at this point should be on obtaining HOV stickers that dealers have already ordered.
It's only out temporarily, with payments for cars bought after March 28 (or applications filed) not available until September. Maybe the marketing folks think they need to boost the cash back to keep the PiPs moving after the HOV stickers are gone.
