I just purchased my first Prius. A 2014 Prius Four to be more specific. I've owned a number of Toyotas in the past: a Corolla-Tercel, a Corolla and a Solara. My last car was a BMW 328i. Loved the Bimmer but my work-related travel is 64 miles a day and the BMW only got 22 MPGs combined. While there is clearly a difference in pick-up and performance between the BMW and Prius (obvious much?), I am absolutely loving the gas mileage! Not only am I getting 51 MPG to and from work, I get to use the HOV lane. So, I am saving money on fuel AND getting to work in less time. What's not to love?!?!?

The only Prius with solo HOV access is the Plug-in. edit - I guess you could be in state other than CA where it is legal.
