Hi: I searched the forum and can't find this answer. Where is the USB port in the Prius Plug-in? It's not in the places stated in the manual (ie. glove box or below the deck). Thanks. Paul
You started two threads now. It was answered for you in the other thread: Where is the USB port? | PriusChat
Ah yeah, sorry about the two threads... my browser hung after I hit submit, and then two threads was created. How do I delete or merge?
Jimbo, The picture shown is of an aftermarket DIY install by rosenberger31 in his 2010 Prius III. Not sure why you chose to use it, as it is misleading. Add a USB Power Outlet in Your Car
the pip base also has heated seat controls in that panel. usb is inside the center console, bottom front.
I checked with a friend who has the Advanced trim, and his is also in the console box. Don't know where Jimbo is coming from. The OP didn't specify which trim he has, but the answer is the same.
Thanks, Jimbo. BTW, should someone want to have a USB plug in the lower tray area, I have seen 12v plugs with a USB port, so you can convert the outlet that the PiP has between the seat heater switches. 12 volt to usb plug | eBay The one in the console box is indeed difficult to find, so I rarely unplug my iPod cord from it. There is the added benefit of keeping everything out of sight under the armrest.
Same for the charger outlet in the armrest. I just leave the charger plugged in, and keep the end sticking out through the grove between the lid and the base so I can just pop on the charger if I need it.
Going by the OP's picture....I'm assuming a Gen 3. This might help you, when you do find it. The USB is a real SOB.... | PriusChat
Well, in the picture it is hard to tell, but the OP said this in the body of his post: "Where is the USB port in the Prius Plug-in?" I think that's what we all have been going by.
Hi All: Sorry for the late reply. Had been traveling. It's a 2014 Plug-in. I did find the USB port. It's inside the center console box, on the front wall next to the AUX audio jack. Thanks. Paul
Thanks to priuskitty, I found it. (In the front wall inside the center armrest console.) It's indeed hard to plug-in. I also don't like my long USB drive sticking out. Am going to buy one of those small ones so I don't break it if I accidentally bump it hard when reaching in for stuff... Paul
