That's what I need to go through and it's been a pain so far. Just wondering if anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, we were successful. DWP was utility here in Los Angeles. We put it in for our LEAF. It is on a separate EV only meter associated with our condo unit. The meter lives in the meter room with the rest of the meters. Conduit runs from it to our parking spot which fortunately is only 3 spaces from the meter room. It is underground parking. We put in 240 outlet with a lockable cover on it and the use portable evse with it. It was a challenge to work through it with DWP. We were their first one in a condo. Getting through our HOA was the easy part. Electrician was William Korthof at 800-524-2970. I recommend him very highly. He has done many condo installations.

I contacted our electric company and asked them about this as I was looking at the Leaf or maybe the PIP. I was informed by them that they can do it, there would be a fee involved, however I have to get approval from my HOA. When I contacted the HOA they said I would need to write a letter and that it would be denied as someone else already tried and they were denied. The only ones that can get a charging station in our complex are those which own a garage. Unfortunately for me no one wants to sell their garage and none of them are up for sale. So, Prius 3 is what I went with.

Stupid HOA. We'd sell and move but damn home values for condos are still shite in our area. C'est La Vie!

Just wondering if California still has those refund benefits for EV stations installed in homes...

Sorry to hear that, your Board of Directors and Management company are totally wrong, they can not deny the installation of a charger in the common area. California law states you would pay for the installation and would have to remove it when you sell it. If you go to Sterling Davis.com you can look up the laws for California and HOA's.
