no, it's a grade issue. you were coming down a mountain. the grade was making the regen 'aggressive'. you can't replicate that in 'normal' driving.

I got the This plug in prius close to the end of September. More of 5,000 miles per month. 225-250 miles per day (M-f). I start off with a full charge close to 5 am usually a range between 10-14 ev miles. I drive 30 miles where I have enough time to charge full because I'm there for about 1.5 hours (there's a 220v) the car is usually done charging. My next stop is another 25 miles away which has a parking garage with free charging (220v). That gives me an opportunity for another complete charge I have to be there for about 1.5 hour; which is perfect ( seems like it was meant to be) . Which just goes on I drive another 20 or so miles and have get an opportunity to charge 3 more times. I am usually done by 5:30 pm. The drive home usually starts with a full charge and is around 100 miles. My charge time is usually 7.5 hours, the charge is usually completed before I'm done at the location. I have driven a prius over 200,000 miles (including pip and the previous gen 3) so I'm a hyper miller. Charging is a added bonus. Some time the stations are busy, it's not really a burden to charge. That's when the Prius' 50mpg comes in handy instead of the volt. On weekends it's not driven because I'm usually so fed up with it by then and use the '13 es hybrid for pleasure. iPhone ?

Thanks. If it's anything like the regular prius it shouldn't give any trouble for another 200k miles. So about another 3.5 years. I'm almost done with the scheduled service, one more free visit left. My service advisor can never believe that I come back every month for a 5k service. Toyota is very reliable. We even had a '04 corolla that ran a million miles ( drove about 500 miles daily) with only needing to rebuild the trans mission the odometer stopped working at 299,999. It should be in a museum, The corolla was put out of commission when the Prius came. Sold it to a close friend , bought it new for $18000 OTD in 2004 salvaged in '08 but that thing didn't give up, it's still on the road getting more than a hundred miles daily by my friend he says it still runs great. Toyota may have horrible customer service, no luxury compared to Lexus , but It sure has reliability. iPhone ?

He had somewhere close to 450K miles on his 2009 Prius when he traded it for a new one. He posted a lot in the Prius forum under the 299,000 mile club. I just looked him up again, and he is now posting in Prius v 200,000 mile club. By the time you read this, he will probably have over 300,000 miles on his 2012.

Potorap, Based on your picture you are averaging 74.9 MPGe for those miles. Once it gets warmer you should be able to make it onto our Top 20 MPGe list. 20th place right now is 81.7 MPGe.
