I think at this point no one knows unfortunately. Dealers are just guessing I think.

no my dealer didn't just give a quick answer, they used my VIN and looked it up on the computer
Only difference is mine is 2013 and Bisco has a 2012

Insurance wont pay for a loaner on a recall.

My insurance only covers rental if I have accident, not for safety fix.

I guess I should wait until I get into an accident. Stupid coverage rule.

its possible your dealer could assist on that loaner while it was being fixed ?
Mine is amazing and has dropped me off and picked me up at home almost 10 miles away

Snowing today so technician will not be able to try to reproduce it today. I rescheduled it to Monday. Hopefully the road is dry.

UK cars can be checked at Toyota site just with registration number; my 2012 is clear.

Got the car back and have been driving for a few days. I am happy to say that my grabby brake has been fixed.

The faulty part was the sensor in the Master Cylinder. They replaced the whole unit (under warranty), cost on the invoice was $2,700.

Oh, I didn't have to pay for the rental neither. I paid nothing out of pocket and got a free car wash as well.

I had 2014 Corolla LE and averaged 40 MPG. Those LED headlights are awesome. I wish I got the PiP Advanced.

It definitely is not part of the recall. The recall does not include the PiP. This document gives all the details.

    http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM450071/RCDNN-14V053-0945.pdf

On page 2 it says the VDS part of the VIN for the recall is KN3DU. My 2012 Three trade-in has that as part of its VIN. My 2012 PiP VIN shows KN3DP and checking on the recall page it is not being recalled as others have reported for their PiPs.

The document referenced gives a very interesting history of how the problem was located and resolved. It is a very good example of how intermittent problems ave very difficult to analyze and fix.

Yea, mine was a separate issue. Not part of the recall.

The new Corolla interior material is better (in my opinion) but my wife disagreed. The rear leg room is almost as spacious as Prius (they stretched 2014).

I agree on improved looks. I've sat in the Rav4 at the dealer. There's been a big improvement on the interior design and comfort, etc. over the prior model. Another reason not to get the current EV model.

Also agree on hybrid model. Seems surprising they would bring out an EV model and not a hybrid. Also strange they are coming out with a new Lexus hybrid based on Rav4, but are so far not doing the same on the Toyota side.
