Now I'm driving a Ford Focus rental, I feel like a fish out of the water driving the Focus. For this shopping for a cheap car, stay away from the Focus.
Looks like you both tried to stop to avoid hitting each other? Did you have an eye witness to the accident?
No witnesses , but thanks God the guy was honest and in another hand he crossed the street when he had a stop sign on it. Basically he was driving between two car that were in the left line from the one I was using. I was around 25 mph and he was not more than 10 probably.
My collision was in the same area but more front on with a pole in the parking garage . The exterior damage wasn't too different than yours. The bill ended being over $11K as I managed to damage the main wiring harness ($4K part) which grounds just in front of the wheels.
I test drove the Focus last spring and found it to be very uncomfortable for me. I'm glad we ended up with the Prius.
Sorry about the accident, especially on a clear, dry day. BTW, what is that green stuff in the background? I've forgotten about that color.
Wow...that doesn't look like $4800 worth of damage! It looks like you only need a new headlight and front bumper cover. From the picture, I would have guessed $2500.
In looking at it it probably also needs a fender and possibly a new fender support welded in. Add to that miscellaneous brackets and braces...
Also the three step paint process is very expensive. Had to get 1 pint of each (white, pearl, clear) for my PIP and it was almost $250! And it's time consuming for the body shop to blend in and get the amount of pearl just right- they usually have to shoot test panels then compare to the surrounding areas.
