I haven't gotten around to installing mine yet, but finally did take care of the DC to case ground issue today, it had not been fixed in my unit. The kludged cap next to it was very close to having a bare lead short to a heat sink, so I insulated that too.

This unit came with the simple wire harness, no inline fuse holders or quick disconnect. I didn't give Jack any notes when I purchased it. So now I need to address this modification.

It is hard to believe that Jack has not modified the inverters to remove the DC- case ground issue.

The inline fuse holder that comes extra does not have the correct semi-conductor type fuse holder. The one that comes with it only has a standard 12V car fuse. I just bought 6 feet of #10 AWG red and black wire at Lower's along with some flexible wire tubing and made my own wire harness.

I bought the inline fuse holders and semi-conductor fuses from Grainger.

If you will go back to the first couple of pages of this thread AHeta Fan gives a really good write-up on determining the proper fuses to use and there is a link to a company to purchase the quick disconnects.

    Good luck.

I didn't re-ohm it yesterday before digging in, just went on a memory of having checked it in December and finding sub-ohm continuity.

The mounting looked like it may have been altered once, with some fiberglass dust on the screw and no obvious thru plating in the PCB hole. But with no insulating bushing or tubing on the screw, and the component side pad still in place, I just dug in as if this unit was unaltered. Manually drilled out the hole, peeled off the comp side pad, cut two sizes of heat shrink tube to cover the screw in two layers (not heat-shrunk, but pulled into the PCB hole from the opposite side by the screw threads), and re-assembled. Now it pegs the 40Mohm scale of my DMM.

That sounds like what AHeta Fan did to his unit once we discovered the ground connection.

It sounds like you are ready to go.
