Backlighting of buttons on steering wheel is dim . . .

    The backlighting of the steering wheel controls are getting very dim to non-existent.

    How hard is it to repair this? How do you do it?

    They are hardly visible even on a new car, and these lights are also not affected by the dashboard lights dimmer.

    The buttons are lit by SMD LED's, and these can be changed "if your soldering skills are good" for brighter ones. You can even change the color if you wish.
