Is there a place where I can find historical Manufacturer incentives for the plug in? For now the offer on purchases is 2750 from manufacturer + 0% for 60 months+deal discounts+applicable state and fed credits which vary from state to state. Would like some info to do a comparison to see if I'm getting a good deal. I currently have a dealer offering 2750+2000(dealer discount) making it 28,285 (before tax credits) based off of MSRP of 33,035. Is this a good deal?
Hi kaiotes, That would make your end price $25,535 after the tax rebate, which is a good deal. The best deals we've seen have been about $1k lower than that, but those are unusual, and seem to be more available with the lease cash rather than on purchases at the moment.
Cool. I've has a PIPA in Downers Grove for a year and a half. I still have seen a PIP in the wild though. Lots of Tesla's though.
Since I'm in CA I get 1500+2500 in tax credits I started emailing dealers, I got one willing to go down to 28,020
...on the surface that's sounds great for CA...last year best deals were back east many folks came here to purchase, out-of-state. But it is just sinking in to me, seems like we do not hear the same price action yet this Fall...if I was in CA I would check with Dianne who is a CA sales rep on this site.
If you missed the news be sure you are aware that Toyota just announced the MSRP for the 2014 model PiPs (arriving next month) has been cut by $2k. 2014 Prius Plugin price drops - $2k and $4.6k, no reduction of features. | PriusChat So if you are looking at a 2013 the first $2k discount should be a given, and really you should be able to get even more of a discount to account for the difference in model year.
any predictions on 2013 and 2014 prices come nov 5th? I'm gona wait til then. No point buying a 13 if it is similarly priced as a 14 model.
Interesting, where in CA is the TFS rebate 2750? SoCal only gives you $2k. I'm seeing $3k in Oregon, and some dealers there giving $2.5k in dealer discounts. But that's good to see about the 2014 MSRP…guess Toyota finally realized they need to drop the prices on these things to move them.
I agree. Most people also don't factor in enough discount to take into account the model year difference.
I am looking for a 2013 PIP Base and got a quote from North Hollywood Toyota: $32,000 + 10% (tax/fee) - $2000 (TFS cash rebate) = $33,000 I know I will get another $4000 from federal+state incentives but I don't think it's a good deal at all. Don't know how other owners from this thread got $28K before tax? I live in Los Angeles. Any tip on a good dealer? Thanks.
Just got our 2013 PIP Base with mats from Palo Alto, CA. Negotiated price $30,600. Took the lease option with $5750 credit. And I will qualify for the $1500 state credit. 0% down, my monthly payment is just shy of $294 for 36 months, residual value $16,960.
don't even look at the tax. your current price is $30k in SoCal, which is not too bad. Northern California has $2750 TFS rebates. Also keep in mind, all these offers expire today (11/4), so depending on how well the cars sold, could be sweetened by TFS.
My first post on the forum as I became the proud owner of a 2014 Prius Plug-in. Here are the price details. Out-of-the-door Price: $32,316 (everything except taxes and registration fees) Invoice Price: $32,200 (after 2000 TFS rebate + 0% financing for 60 months) Model (advanced or standard): Advanced I also took "Toyota Care Plus" for $1600 (not included in the price above) for 5yrs/75k miles. The finance guy mentioned that I can cancel it anytime I want. I am still investigating to see if this is worth the money. Any thoughts on this are appreciated. (Edit: Removed taxes and registration fees from the OTD Price)
Congrats!!! And welcome!!! Was the tax, title, and license cost built into that out the door price? And what is included in the Care Plus package? It better be pretty awesome for $1600.
+1. If it just continues the standard Toyota Care for another three years, 50K miles it is pretty expensive indeed. Five additional 10K oil changes with tire rotation would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $400.00, I would guess. Five tire rotations/fluid inspections at the 5K intervals maybe another $125.00? The only other service item required that I can think of would be the cabin and engine air filters- maybe another $150.00 for two changes each? (You can easily do those yourself, buying the filters online or at the dealer and save a chunk of money.) Sounds like an easy $700-800 pure profit for the dealer to me. There may be some requirement that you have ALL service/parts/repair done at the selling dealer. I would read the whole contract very carefully. The finance manager is the last guy you see in the dealership, and it is their last chance to enhance the profit on each sale. Caveat emptor! I don't want to sound totally down and negative, so enjoy your new car! My PiP is my third Prius, and I would buy another.
markabele: Yes TTL fees are included in the out-of-the-door price rogerv: In addition to the regular maintenance, major services (30K; 45K; 60K; and 75K) are also covered. 24 hour roadside assistance is also extended.
I think the "major services" are the dealer's idea. Check your suggested maintenance schedule provided by the factory and I believe you will see that only oil and filter changes are recommended, along with tire rotations and routine inspections. I've never had a "major service" on any of mine. AAA roadside is probably more reasonably priced.
Thanks rogerv for the input. From what I have been reading on this forum, I am more inclined to cancel it.
