Hi All, I found this on Yahoo just today and was wondering what some of you think about this. "Drive More Miles for Less: Up to 50 More Miles per Tank of Fuel. Better fuel economy, cleaner engines, less emissions and fewer trips to the gas pump are just a few of the benefits consumers can get from using MILESPLUS Petroleum Enhancer™. Proven for 20 years in trucking and shipping industries, MILESPLUS is an organic surfactant/dispersant that improves vehicle performance by cleaning engine components and breaking fuel into micro-droplets to improve fuel economy and enhance MPG. Consumers have reported up to 50 more miles per tank of fuel in cars, SUVs and diesel trucks; and up to 100 more miles in RVs." Full Link: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/070524/clth117.html?.v=21
Osiris, I have also heard about this product CA40g http://www.ca40g.com/index.html Seems kind of similar.
I'd be leery of putting anything but fuel in the tank of a prius, given the bladder and all. I ran a 1:600 ratio of acetone in my TDI (with a water separator filter) noticed smoother run and better mileage running petrol and B20, on B100 it made no difference at all.
Snake OIL!!!! Lets face it, if it was so good and actually worked, then you would hear about it everywhere. Why do you think you no longer see infomercials on those oil and gas additives from years back? Because they were BS. about 15 years ago, there actually was a product that did what it claimed, and is still available from Canada. It's called Moly Black Gold, and was sold though MLM, but the originators of the MLM packed up and took the money with them and we could no longer find a distributor for the products. I used the products til I ran out and it did work as claimed. Basically it has an ingredient in it created during WWII, a super lubricant that would get absorbed into the pores of the metal, then when the metal heated up, it would sweat out. It is called QX. the beauty of that was it can draw Molebdenum Disulfide into the metal, Moly is known as the worlds best lubricant, but because so, it doesnt stick to metal, but using QX combined with moly, the moly can be drawn into the metal, so when the qx sweats out, the moly is there to protect the engine. It was this stuff that helped my Ford 5.0 run 300K miles with no wear. They also had transmission and fuel additives with the QX in it, that worked, but the overall cost of using it at every fill was prohibitive. Each bottle was $20. THe reason I know it worked was I saw a demonstration of the product, not in an engine, but with two peices of metal and a hot plate. One peice was treated, the other wasnt, after a few minutes of heating, you can see the surface of the treated metal become wet. Also when you rubbed the treated peices together, there was virtually no friction.

Wow, my dad told me today that he bought some additive that is supposed to improve you car mileage up to 10%. He bought it because the guy on the talk show he listens to, The Ed Shultz Show (sp?), told him about it and he says he is very cautious on recommending things to other people. I'm not trying it on my car, but my dad is gonna put it in our 13+ year old Previa (sp?) so I'll let you all know what happens. I'm not expecting anything, but at least it's not my money and not my car. Once he told me the specs I almost wanted to burst out laughing, but I managed to hold it in.
Moly did not have to be used at every fill. It was $29.99 per botlle, and returned in 2001, focus has been international distribution. Moly black gold international is new name.
Wonder chemical cures baldness, turns water to fuel, and cleans floors! Why is it not the standard? Possibility A) It does not work Possibility B) Some side effect is so bad no one can safely use it. Possibility C) The owner, discoverer, inventor is so hard to deal with that no one sells it. Gary Kildall - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It really is C sometimes, but always bet on A or B.
Some decent tires, regular gas, and riding the electric motor are what are going to get you optimum efficiency. Shut the heat and a/c off if you can and watch that mpg rating skyrocket.
Take the money you would spend on an additive, buy gasoline and you will be guaranteed to travel farther.
