2 weeks ago, we took delivery of our 2014 Prius v, and so far, my wife absolutely LOVES it. We ended up going with the Touring package (in Canada, they don't use 1, 3, and 5). The Touring package is loaded with the exception of the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and the Park Assist. We almost went with a 2013 that they had on the lot (it was light blue), but when we found out that the dealer had a 2014 Blue Ribbon Metallic on the way, we decided to go with it. This past week has been a real test because the temperature has been between -25 and -35 Celsius (-13 and -26 F) for an extended time, but our little wagon has done great. In Canada, Black Heaters are mandatory on the Prius, and we put on winter tires almost immediately, so we were well prepared. The remote start gets put in at the end of the month, and then we'll be all set. The gas mileage in this cold is hovering between 35 and 40, which is quite impressive. We're looking forward to giving it a real test once winter is over.
Block heaters are not mandatory in the "balmy" parts of Canada, like Nova Scotia. Good to know it's still comfortable inside at -35.
Let us know if you have problems with the INSIDE of the windshield icing. Virginia is cold now, and two mornings I've had ice inside.
Congrats and good luck with your new v. Your gas mileage will be 4-5 miles per gallon better when it gets warmer, I'd say over 40 or 45 degrees. We get 44 to 47 mpg here in CT USA in the spring, summer, and fall.
Hello fellow Prii owners... Knocking on the V owners doors.. My neighbor just got a V 5 and loves my illuminated door sills on my Gen III 5, I've been trying to help him out with an answer... Does anyone know if the Gen III OEM door sills will fit the V? Or even wire up the same way? Thank you so much and happy holidays to all
