Cargo/Luggage cover?

ive been thinking of the same thing; how to add a cargo cover to the C1 for cheap. as you already know the c1 doesnt have the rear plastic pieces like the higher models. so i think that all we are left with is to somehow fabricate one. but i have no clue how too.

 

What about getting limo tint?

 

i have a toyota highlander with factory privacy tint and it is super dark! almost too dark in the rear glass and makes it hard to see at night. i also have a rav4 with i installed 15% tint in the rear and passenger windows, and it did make a slight difference in rear viewing but from the inside it was fine but when a person looked in from the back it was super dark.

 

What king said. The limo obviously makes it darker but you will get used to it.

 

What does the back actually look like? are there grooves of any kind to attach a cover to?

thats still a nice idea. very cheap. and in the summer time you can use it as your windshield blocker

 

Okay, so it's the C-1.

But still Toyota. You'd think they could keep the attachment points and at least make the cargo cover "possible".
That's a bit too cheap of Toyota.

 

the reason the attachment point arent there, is because in the C1, there is "carpet" where as in the C2 and up have actual plastic panels, and that is where the cover attaches too.

 

The Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe have a similar factory cargo cover.

 

Hey I actually found something that might work.... I'll have to measure to see if it fits, and then find a cheaper version or cheaper seller, but either way I'm getting closer to the target.

 

im sure it id possible to swap out the side panels. you will even get to have a rear cargo light if you do. but the price of the panels is probably a lot more than i would want to spend.

 

Junk yard is always an option. If you can find a Prius C there.

But I still think even on an entry level, most base level, that's a little too cheap of Toyota.

Even if I go back to the 90's and 80's with some of my parents hatch-backs, I can't think of one where a cargo cover wasn't offered at least as a possible option, if not simply part of the vehicle.

There's "Spartan" and then there is "Cheap". When manufacturing and assembling the vehicle on a assembly line, I can't believe the plastic cover with attachment points vs. "carpet" creates that much more cost to the total vehicle. Infact making the panels uniform across the entire line might even be easier if not cheaper.

 

I couldn't find much information specific to the VE but I'm curious about your post. How bare bones was this vehicle?
