Folks, My apologies in advance for belaboring this topic but was hoping someone who's done this exact upgrade can confirm the following: I am looking to install 2010-2013 Prius OEM 17" wheels (toyota part # 42611-47200) onto my current 2013 base Plug in (model 1235) that come standard with 15" wheels Some questions.... 1. Will my 2013 Plug in accommodate these 17" wheels? If so, can I use my existing lugs? 2. Are center caps absolutely required OR more of an aesthetic preference? 3. Any trade-offs regarding performance or safety with remanufactured wheels versus brand new? Found a set of 4 17" oem prius wheels only on Ebay $508.00 (includes shipping) Thanks
The initial feedback from the Internet and various credible sources is that any 17" oem prius wheel from years 2010 - 2013 (215/45/R17 tire size) will be compatible with my 2013 plug in base model 1235. I intend to use existing lugs from my current stock 15" oem wheels.
I can't comment on the comparability, but I do recommend the 17's. The ride can bit firm but the cornering is great. I'm sure I could get a few extra miles per gallon with smaller rims but I do pretty well.
Looks like you have/referring to the 17" oem wheels that come std. on the wagon V model, correct? I personally prefer the 5 spoke 17" oem wheels
They will fit and you can use the existing lugs. Be prepared to a small hit on MPG (and EV range I suppose).
Just purchased a set of (4) re manufactured 17" oem wheels only on eBay for $508/shipped to Los Angeles, CA. Tires sourced separately through a wholesaler. After mounting/balancing/transferring sensor this upgrade will cost me $730.00
