Yep! with regular Prius too. I left my 2005 open in front of inverter area also.

 

So even though Ken from Japan recommends blocking the top if it gets cold enough, you would disagree with him?

 

I remember that advice as being reversed for Gen-3 as with Gen-2...

 

Last time I read about grill blocking (last year) people were still recommending blocking the top if it was cold enough (has to be really cold out).

 

I wish Toyota will 'pick-up the glove' and install dynamic grills (closing controlled by coolant temp or whatever) in future designs.
It is not easy to increase efficiency of a very efficient car and it may only be possible by the sum of 'small improvements' like this.

 

My guess is that there is a pretty good chance this will happen on the next gen.
