I love being able to record hours of music on a thumb drive and play it through the sound system of my 11 F150. My 10 Prius 2 has an AUX jack in the console. Will this or a similar device allow me to play a USB thumb drive through the Prius AUX Jack ?? View Full Description USB Female to AUX 3.5mm Male Jack Plug Audio Converter Adapter Data Charge Cable
This is short on detail. But I doubt they can cramp a USB controller and a MP3 WMA decoder D/A converter in that package and for 5.99. SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 ? 2
I don't think it will work. There is no dedicated menu/controls for external device. IMHO the best solution is to carry additional MP3/WMA player connected to AUX. I have one Sony digital Walkman for that purpose, in addition my smartphone also is equipped with headphones outlet (not to mention Bluetooth connection which works OK).
Thanks guys, too good to be true LOL. I have a little VR 3 brand MP3 decoder / FM modulator that plugs in a lighter / power socket. That works pretty well to play MP3 music from a thumb drive through the FM radio.
The ad says: "This cable can only be used in the car AUX hole with the decoding function Some cars AUX without a decoding function can only use MP3 devices" The Prius "AUX hole" is an audio input with no decoding function, and as the ad says, all you can use with it is an MP3 player that puts out a standard stereo audio signal.
not likely at all !!! But newer Prius Gen III can directly play from USB I was pleasently suprised when I got the 2012 Prius 2 after the 2010
2010s built after Oct 2009 got this USB function. It was one of the upgrades that I wanted when trading in my early production 2010 for a higher level 2012.
Thanks I did not know this I had a 2010 bought it in October 2009 (so it was built before that) but I am quite happy with this new addition in the 2012 I got.
