You should have had an ambulance transport you to emergency. My wife did that after her accident and all the bills go directly to the insurance. Zero out of pocket for you. The ambulance and hospital love it because they get paid in full rather than having health insurance cut back there charges. There are no questions about the charges for the first 2 days. Then everything is documented for the lawyers.

As it is for you now, you will need to fight for any compensation for injury.

    Thanks,
    Dan

I second the opinion to have a doc check you out. The at fault insurance will pay for the visit and any therapy that is recommended. This often includes back massages. Not only that, but seeing a doctor now creates a paper trail showing an injury that was sustained due to the car accident, so that if you have issues further down the road, you have evidence that can attribute the issues to the car accident.

Rear wheel drive cars are tricky to control when driven past their ability to grip the road. People should think twice about buying one just because they think they look cool. Driving practice in a safe and controlled environment should be mandatory for first time drivers of rear wheel drive vehicles. I recently sold a rear wheel drive 3.7L Jeep Liberty to a young woman and advised that she take it somewhere safe to get a feel for how it handles, especially since the tires were worn out and it's extremely easy to get sideways.

If you choose to retain the services of an attorney, then they can refer you to a doctor who will treat you on a lien.

7K then they tear it down and the repair bill may go up.

It sounds like they will fix it but wait and see.

Bet it takes 6 weeks from accident date before the car is completed. Get a good rental

Get a Prius rental so you don't have to throw a ton of money in the tank.

Is the dealer doing the work or a shop that insurance provides lifetime guarantee ?

I'm having a body shop that does work for a major Toyota dealer here. Not sure about any lifetime guarantee.

What does the company value the car at? 7K seems like a high percentage. What is the percentage needed to total?

Body shops usually don't get too involved with suspension parts or alignments
After it's repaired I would have a frame, alignment shop check it over before
Signing off ... Seven grand of damage , no injury with you ?? I would
Have a chiropractor check me out before this gets too old ,

They did not check the battery, I'm assuming the body shop does since they do the work for a Toyota dealer but I haven't talked to them yet. The appraisal covers alignment and they have to replace the rear strut because it's mangled.

I always get 3 quotes from independent shops and submit them to the adjuster. I'll accept a cash payment for the average of the 3 quotes and then I either live with the damage, or fix it myself. Either way, you come out ahead by taking the cash and negotiating repairs with a shop. If you just have a shop fix the damage and bill the insurance company, the best you can hope for is to break even. I don't like playing games where the best I can hope for is to break even, with a chance that I could loose. Having an accident recorded on your car affects the resale value.
