I thought I was rid of the bluetooth "problem" when I cleared my phone of ANY music. Every time I clicked the USB/AUX button my playlist would automatically stream, even though I may have intended to stream other forms of audio (news apps, etc). So now that I've upgraded to iOS7, I'm afraid there is no longer any workaround. Even though my playlist is empty, it automatically defaults to the radio and starts playing. This is insane!! Anyone else experienced this? Any tips?
I'm in the amiss of upgrading to iOS 7 and it's taking forever under a no great wireless connection. I will get back with some more info at later date
I've experienced this as well....I noticed right when I got the Prius at the end of July... I am an IOS developer and have been running the beta for quite some time.... Along this this, the IOS 7 beta's very very glitchy up until the very last release.
I'm seriously disliking iOS7. The GUI is hideous, IMO. I wish there was a way to undo the software upgrade. I miss my old phone.
I agree. I thought that it would "grow" on me but it has not yet. I am disappointed in apple a bit. My initial reaction to the new GUI was that it was hybrid windows/droid device. The other thing that upsets me about iPhone in general is that every other major manufacturer out there have larger screens. I do not need something the size of a note 2, but it would be nicer to have a bit more screen real estate.
Mediahound- are you talking about the "control/command" screen? I think that you access this by swiping from the bottom, actually off the main screen, just to the left or right of the home button.
Maybe you could put some music back on your phone - specifically, a single track of silence. So when the car tells your phone to "play", the phone plays the silence for you until you go to whatever app you really wanted to hear.
i don't think that would work . in mine it tends to play whatever i had on last weather it be the XM app , regular ipod/ apple radio app or spotify . i didn't realize it was because of the ios7 until i read this thread
Well mine isn't doing it anymore. Not sure what I did exactly to make it stop. I've cleared my phone of any music and I force close the music/radio app after use. Seems to have resolved the issue.
I actually like iOS 7. You really have to take the time to read about all the features. With respect to playing music, I too notice that it doesn't pick up playing what you were listening to before the car was shut down. I merely swipe up from the bottom of the phone and press the play button. I've been using Apple radio, Pandora, XM/Sirius and they all act the same. I noticed also that it acts the same if you are streaming with BT or USB.
This probably doesn't apply to you, but I had a similar problem; the car wouldn't play automatically, and pressing the play button on the car's screen did nothing. Nor did the buttons in the control center on the iPhone (swiping up from the bottom). I had to actually go into the music app to hit play. For me, rebooting the phone fixed that, in case anybody else encounters it. Before rebooting, I googled it and it sounds like a number of people are having similar problems - most can resolve it by rebooting, but it sometimes comes back. So just in case you see that, now you know.
